Google Is On the Verge of Indexing Android App Content

Android app developers can now get their app content indexed and connect pages from the websites with the specific content within the app. The users who have already got your app installed can open it directly from relevant mobile search results on Google.

Google robots can index the Android app content, either through a sitemap file or through Google’s Webmaster Tools. Content within Android apps will be indexed by Google robots and when the users will search for the app from the mobile devices, they will be directed to relevant content of the app.

The process is still in the testing phase and indexing is only limited to a handful group of developers. Signed-in searchers within United States are expected to view the results on their Android devices within a few weeks.

The mobile app developers, who intend to get their apps indexed, need to sign up for application of interest. However, the developers should be aware of certain technical details which can be read here. For the time being, Google’s app indexing is currently available for Android OS and whether it would expand to Windows and iPhone apps is a question for the time to answer!
