Not Just Another Bengali New Year

Pohela Baisakh

Pohela Baisakh

Poila Baisakh, is the threshold of the first month of Bengali Calendar. And as we know it, when it comes to celebration, there is no one better than Supertronites! And our every celebration comes in a Supertronite way! Welcoming the Bengali New Year was nothing short of a grand gala when the fun-lovers entered the office in an all new ethnic clad avatar. The women in sarees and the men in Kurta-Punjabi looked dapper and the excitement in them was bubbling in them. As the HR manager had announced, everyone was getting ready for the evening events to start.

Just as the clock struck 5:00 pm, the sound of workstations being closed for the day was more than audible. The event got started with a small speech from the HR manager, Ms Payeli Sen Majumder. And the event started with giving out the certificates to the employees who has completed one year and to the one completing three successful years with Supertron family. The moment spread some happy nostalgia when they came one by one and shared their experience with Supertron. And then came the turn of the new joinees. They shared their experience till the date.

But the best was yet to come. was the grand event of the evening with the CEO, Mr Sanjay Chaudhury taking the centre stage with a bunch of questions and a handful of Flipkart vouchers. The quizzes were easy as well as tricky and Mr Abhishek Dhar, Ms Paromita Bhattacharjee, Mr Nilabja Mukherjee and Mr Ahmed walked away with the gift coupons.

Finally, the grand gala came to its penultimate stage with the time of the fashionistas. It was the time to pick out the in-house Dude and the Beautiful only to be honoured as “Ms Ooo La La” and “Mr Hotie”, which was respectively grabbed by Ms Bidisha Chakraborty and Mr Debarun Biswas. There was enough reason to be jealous of them as the winners walked away with bags full of chocolates.

As the splendid evening was coming to an end, the floor was filled with the aroma of pav bhaji and hot gulab jamun. The food was sumptuous and everyone ate to their heart’s content. As everyone was stepping out of the office at the end, there were certainly some good memories in their hearts and dreams of a better and bigger celebration to their eyes. Another new year started with some new goals to achieve.

A Celebration of Colors

Holi celebration

Holi celebration

It was the day before a ‘Holi’-day, 22nd March and the Supertronites were again high with the spirit of their mischief. And why not? It was the day of fun, mirth and joy. It was the day of Holi celebration. As the HR manager, Ms. Payeli Sen Majumder ‘warned’ everyone not to delay with their work; everyone was on their toes to shut down their machine by 5:30 to do the justice with the mouthful of Dhokla and Gulabjamun. And just when the clock struck 6, all the Gulal packets were out for the action.

The event started in subtle way with a ‘tika’ to the CEO Mr. Sanjay Chaudhury. And then things turned quirky when the first attack was on the project manager, Mr. Debarun Biswas. He made sure that none of the faces remain recognizable. Within Minutes the whole floor was smeared with pink, blue, red and yellow. The hairs turned red, the teeth turned brown and the shutterbugs kept on doing their job to make the moments memorable.

It was pure pleasure seeing the Supertronites at their merriment. They again proved that whatever they do, they do it at their best. Be it the work or the celebration.

Supertron Poila BoishakhPoila Boishakh has always been one of those occasions that Supertronites celebrate with a bang! The preparations had been going on at full swing, and the effects started seeping in as soon as all Supertronites arrived dressed in ethnic attires.

As per the official e-mail circulated, every machine got shut down by 3.30 pm, and it was up to HR Manager, Ms. Payeli Sen Majumdar and Business Analyst, Mr. Chintan Kotak to start off the proceedings. After their brief introductory speech, the celebration finally began with poetry recitations by the three Supertronites Mrs. Rituparna Mukherjee, Mr. Nirmalya Dutta and Mr. Agnipravo Sengupta… and they captured the essence of the occasion beautifully indeed, garnering huge appreciation. What followed next was a song by Ms. Sinchita Choudhury and it goes without saying, her magical voice left everyone on the floor completely spellbound!

Then, it was time for the most anticipated act! And staying true to the promises shown, the stellar performance put up by the entire team of went on to become the highlight of the evening. Led by Ms. Paroma Kumar, the show by was had five distinct performances –
Rabindrasangeet by Ms. Purnima Sarkar and Mr. Pratik Chanda, enactment of Sukumar Ray’s ‘Narod Narod’ by Mr. Ayon Ghosh and Mr. Sibabrata Chatterjee, Group play based on Rabindranath Tagore’s ‘Homecoming’ by Mr. Sibabrata Chatterjee, Mr Sanjoy Mondal, Mr. Aritra Mondal, Mr. Shabnam Adhikary, Ms. Madhumita Dutta, Ms. Pampa Ghosh and Ms. Pratima Dey, Crossword Puzzle by Mr. Rajkumar Samanta, Mr. Pronay Dhara Sharma, Mr. Mayukh Hazra, Mr. Saba Parvez and Mr. Manas Das and finally a group song acting as the curtain call.

But with so many well-dressed Supertronites, a fashion show was obviously the need of the hour. As Supertronites walked on the ramp (read: the floor), CEO, Mr. Sanjay Chaudhary stood attentive as the judge. After a tough competition, he came out with his decision and Mr. Praveen Sharma and Ms. Sayandeepa Basak walked away with the titles of “Poila Shundor” and “Poila Shundori” respectively.

Poila Boishakh was also the perfect opportunity to reward dedication and hard work. It was not only the top performers and mentors of the quarter who were generously awarded with performance certificates by the CEO Mr. Chaudhary, but ‘Committed to Excellence’ certificates were given to the Supertronites who have been working with the organization for a period of over one year and more. While Mrs. Rituparna Mukherjee, Web & Graphics Visualizer won the Supertronite of the 1st Quarter of 2015, it was Mr. Manish Kr. Madhukar, the IT Manager who was handed over the ‘Mentor of the 1st Quarter, 2015’ award. The winners stepped forward to share his or her thoughts and memorable moments in the organization. Later, a few Supertronites were summoned to the middle by the CEO himself and were lauded for their remarkable contributions.

As everyone started stepping out of office with wonderful memories, there were high hopes that the coming year would be more productive whereby the organization would touch greater heights and create newer milestones!

Responsive Rangers short and sweet presentation was truly one-of-a-kind

Short, crisp and engaging…that’s how we can summarize Responsive Rangers Presentation. It was a first day of the fourth week of March. The battle against “Monday Blues” was only half-won and Supertronites got their share of help with Responsive Rangers’ Presentation that enliven the spirit to a great deal!

Unlike what Supertronites witnessed before the previous presentations by Dynamic Dudes and Tireless Troubleshooters, Responsive Rangers did not spend much time in the Conference room, strategizing or rehearsing their part. And when they delivered it on the main stage, the flow was immaculate that got every single individual applauding and appreciating.

The presentation started off with the Mentor of the team inviting Team Dynamic Dudes and Team Tireless Troubleshooters members for a group activity. With inflated balloons placed between each other, the team members had to walk in que, without the balloons falling off! While Dynamic Dudes took the central passage,Tireless Troubleshooters members started walking from the left. There were a few fumbles initially, but in the end, both the teams performed quite brilliantly. Dynamic Dudes was declared the winner by Responsive Rangers mentor Ms. Payeli Sen Majumdar and the team walked off with bundles of chocolates!

The group activity was then followed by a short-quiz contest conducted by Mr. Somnath Dey of Responsive Rangers. Few simple questions were asked; while few questions went unanswered, a few Supertronites won chocolates for giving the right answers!

It was turn for the final performance and Ms. Menakshi came up. She recited a self-created poem and mesmerized everyone in the floor. It was not only her eloquence, but the poem itself that entailed the adversities of a woman and how the social taboos and structures have continued to subjugate women, supress them as the weaker sex.

Techlavya, moving ahead, is expected to expose more talent and skills lying dormant within Supertronites, which otherwise, would have always remained behind the curtains!
