Supertron Infotech Puts Up A Good Show In ATPL 2013

Expectations were high and the boiling of the blood refused to slow down… 21st December 2013 it was and Supertronites were all geared up for the ATPL Cricket Tournament. Decked in the official red t-shirt and cap with the logo of the ‘Supertron’ imprinted, it was evident that Supertronites were moving ahead with a mission in mind! The day started with an inspiring text message from the HR Manager and the entire team reached the ground by 10.30 am.
Supertron Infotech Puts Up A Good Show In ATPL 2013
The venue for the tournament was Beliaghata Cricket Ground and the inaugural match was between Supertron Infotech and Institute of International Trade. Having won the toss, Institute of International Trade put Superton into bat and huge round of applause echoed as the two openers walked on to the field. The innings was marked by sensational display of powerful hits as well as sensible strokeplay. At the end of ten overs, Supertron managed 98 runs. In response, Institute of International Trade had a jittery start; thanks to the wonderful bowling display by Supertronites. The match went down to the wire with Institute of International Trade requiring six runs in the last over. A hit and a miss, a couple of runs, the ball passing the outside edge, a fumble in the deep… it all happened in the last six balls of the game and Institute of International Trade could not snatch the winning run in the last ball of the over. The match was tied and it was time for the super-over! The two teams would now be facing eight balls and loss of wicket would result in deduction of two runs from the total! Supertron skipper decided to go for the same bowler and this time Institute of International Trade got better of him! It was raining sixes as the weary arm of the Supertronite conceded 23 runs out of eight deliveries! In reply, Supertronites managed 18 runs out of eight balls in the Super-Over, thus falling five runs short of the target! A nail-biting finish it was and Supertronites’ undying spirit in the field garnered huge appreciation, even from the opposition team!

However, Supertronites did not run short of enthusiasm on being knocked out in the first game of the tournament, rather, each and every member stayed till the end and encouraged the other teams to the right spirit of the game!
